Our Story

The Mahogany Community Association (MCA) was founded in 2024 by a small group of passionate residents who believed that Mahogany deserved more than just beautiful homes and scenic pathways—it deserved a strong, inclusive, and empowered community where everyone feels they belong.

As Mahogany blossomed into one of Calgary’s most dynamic and diverse neighbourhoods, the need for a volunteer-led organization that could foster connection, amplify community voices, and help shape the neighbourhood’s future became clear. That vision—and the desire to celebrate our diversity, advocate for resident interests, and protect the beauty of our shared environment—led to the creation of the MCA.

From day one, our purpose has been rooted in connection, inclusion, and collaboration. We exist to foster belonging, build local pride, and ensure Mahogany is a thriving, welcoming place for all. Our work reflects the values that guide us: inclusivity and diversity, environmental stewardship, advocacy, collaboration, and a commitment to community well-being.

Though we are still in our early days, we’ve already laid the foundation for meaningful impact. We’ve forged relationships with the City of Calgary, developers, and local organizations. We’ve hosted our first events, launched programs, and welcomed members who believe in creating a community that listens, celebrates, and grows together.

We are entirely volunteer-driven and powered by optional community memberships, generous partnerships, and the dedication of residents who care deeply about the place they call home.

As we grow, our story continues to be written—by you, by your neighbours, and by everyone who believes that Mahogany is more than a neighbourhood—it’s a connected, caring, and inclusive community.
